CSI is a funny show.
i love when they use flashlights outside in the daylight.
or when they’re looking through someone else’s trash and the contents are some crumpled pieces of paper and a few take-out Chinese food containers.

wow. Delilah is on the radio right now, and some woman calls in and says she wants to dedicate a song to her new husband.
Delilah asks what the husband’s name is, the lady replies, and then Delilah says, “sounds like a Klingon name”
wow. how rude is that?!

The “It” factor

February 26, 2006

here’s a guy from American Idol who the judges agreed has the “it” factor.
y am i sharing this?
mostly b/c i have nothing else to do… and i feel like its time to post a picture. and since i haven’t taken any exciting pics recently, i figured a video will suffice.
plus i find it fairly comical.

hehe, look at his face in the last shot.
he’s funnny.

i don’t like that song.
its kinda ‘wrong’.

i feel stupid.

i didn’t realize that Frou Frou’s song “Holding out for a Hero” was actually a cover of a song from the 70s.

[they’re playing all 70s music on the radio tonight.
it’s the best night ever.

i love this music.
i can never sit still while its playing.
“she’s a maniac, maniac on the floor!”

they played one of the best songs ever just now.
“oh the sweet green icing, flowing down!” (cuz someone left the cake out in the rain :) )]

Watching the Tide roll away…

February 25, 2006

fun drive home from london yesterday.
my mom and i managed to drag it out as long as possible.
that includes driving away from the highway in order to get dinner @ Manchu Wok.

its crazy how similar we are in terms of our sense of humour. We just seem to laugh hysterically at the same things.
For example, we were driving down the highway listening to music and out of nowhere my mom goes, “but,” as if we had been in mid conversation and she had something else to say. So i crack up, and she cracks up, and after we’re done she continues on with a conversation i thought we had finished about 30minutes earlier.

I had the song ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” on a cd and my mom knew all the words to it. it was cool b/c it was effortless. and it’s not really a song you hear on the radio everyday. i love that song. “i can’t do what ten people tell me to do, so i guess i’ll remain the same”

anyways, we were driving down the highway and out of the blue my mom starts asking me if i have a boyfriend.
heh, it was actually pretty clever on her part, i was trapped in a car with her and had no way out of the conversation.

I feel bad for my parents. They deserve grandchildren. They would really enjoy them. My dad has a cute godson from church, but that’s not really the same. unfortunately for them it doesn’t look like any of us are getting hitched any time soon.
thankfully, i’m the youngest, so i shouldn’t be getting an pressure until the other two walk down the aisle! :)
mwahahahaha.

February 24, 2006

so i decided that i’m gonna stop writing about music & music videos for a while (at least a few days!), cuz i think i’m taking it too far.
haha, every entry is about Jack’s Mannequin.

unfortunately the only thing i’ve been doing the past few days that is ‘out of the ordinary’ is watching music vids. (today it was Scott Stapp… i’m intrigued b/c of all the bad press he got due to his drug abuse.)

anyways, here’s a fun game: http://www.blockfrenzy.com/
my longest so far is 19.859 seconds!
i think i’d be easier if i had a mouse… maybe.

February 22, 2006

so i doubt anyone listens to me when i say ‘go watch this music video’ b/c i think i’m one of the few people who actually watch them all the time.

how many times have i watched ‘The Mixed Tape’ so far? atleast 6… since saturday.
it’s interesting to note, in one of the versions of that music vid (there are 3 on yahoo music) he has 2 mikes set up at his piano.
one meets his mouth when he’s facing the piano and playing, and the other is off to the side for when he faces the audience and plays.

it’s interesting though, b/c the one facing the audience is a bit higher… so maybe he half stands up when he sings facing the audience.

anyways,
i stumbled upon the “backyard dancing” video for Ok Go. the ’secret site’ that it was on the first time i mentioned it is now gone, but thankfully the video still exists on the net!
it’s a fun one.
here’s a link–>[link] :)

“this is morning, it’s when i spend the most time thinking about what i’ve given up”
~ Jack’s Mannequin, “The Mixed Tape”

AHHHH I CANT STOP LISTENING TO THIS SONG!!!!

so elections are going on at school for the Student Council Prez for next year. it’s actually a bigger deal that that title makes it sound.
The Student’s Council has a budget of $22million.
crazzzzy.

anyways, the first name of one of the guys running is ‘Fab’ and he spelt his name out on the big hill we have here as a promotion (others did the same thing with their own names).

Anyways apparently Fab’s has been ‘tampered’ with a few times. Someone changed the last letter of his name.

So here’s his response in the student newspaper:
“It’s really unfortunate. I hope it’s an attack on my campaign [rather than the gay community]. I put together an e-mail sympathizing and telling [PrideWestern] I’m sorry, and I had no intention of it happening.”

now if that’s not good PR, i don’t know what is.

Joshua Radin’s website is finally “complete”!!
he’s cool.
check him out.

bloody donation!

February 20, 2006

i went to give blood today.
i usually drop by whenever i’m wearing a t-shirt and see if they have any openings for the day.
they’re usually all booked up and ask me if i want to schedule an appointment for the next day or week.
and i always say no.

so today when she told that they’re had spots available, i was shocked!
apparently it’s been a while since the last time i was there.

the circle bandaids that they put on your finger after they check your iron aren’t different colours anymore. they’re just normal bandaid colour.
boo for that.

my blood is basically black.
its kinda funny.

they had a bunch of blood paraphernalia to read.
The one that listed some traits associated to each blood type was funny. Mine was the opposite of me. it was like horoscopes. why do ppl believe those things anyway?

they had a “top 10 reasons why you should give blood list”. I couldn’t believe it when i read, “giving blood may temporarily reduce your weight”.
!!!
Is THAT what we have come to as a society?
donating blood to lower your weight by a couple pounds?
i was/am shocked and appalled.

so, the only thing i don’t like about donating blood is that once you do it they never leave you alone!!
whether its sending you junk mail telling you that you’re blood type is in high demand (um, which blood type ISNT in high demand?!) or calling you to ask you to make an appointment, they just don’t stop!
until you stop donating altogether. It takes a year or so, but eventually they stop calling…
I should email my mom and tell her that i donated. that way she’ll be prepared for all the phone calls.

This ‘one episode per week’ thing is ridiculous!
especially with the Grey’s Anatomy episode that was on tonight.
i wanna know what happens, now!!
:)
i haven’t seen that show since January, cuz of work.
…actually, that’s a lie, cuz i watch it on my computer.

I haven’t seen a NEW episode since January.
(that’s better)

“Closer” by Joshua Radin was in this episode! that was exciting…even though i new it was coming.

the quote of the episode is:
“Without parents to defy we break the rules me made for ourselves”
