just stuff

i found a cool flash site with a Flickr tag search engine [here].

have i mentioned the WhyFiles yet?
i added the link to this page a while ago…. it’s a fun site, “the science behind the news”
i found it while searching for the answer to my ‘running on ice/snow’ question.
i discovered that apprently elephants dont run, they walk. :)

Today’s song of the day is “Everybody plays the fool” by The Main Ingredient.
it’s a great song, i say.
and for some reason, i can picture a JD from Scrubs saying, “Everybody plays the fool….sometime”.
i tried to find out if i’m going crazy or not through a google search, but i didnt get any conclusive results.
i SWEAR he says it in an episode!!!
(okay…i don’t swear, but i’m pretty sure he says it!)

here’s another site: GIMP, a free alternative to Photoshop… apparently it does all the things that Photoshop does, so i’d only download it if you don’t have Photoshop.

scarrrrry

about 2 weeks ago, i realized that i seriously need to cut back my watching of those Law and Order/CSI type shows. They’re disturbing.
and it’s disturbing that the kind of violence they discuss has become major sources of entertainment for me.
one of my friends comes over to my place for ‘CSI Nite’ on thursdays, but if it wasn’t for that, i’d stop watching CSI first. (CSI Las Vegas, that is) They just keep pushing the envelope. Last Thursday the envelope burst open and eyeballs fell all over the floor.

haha.

Anyways i had one of the most disturbing dreams ever last night.
apparently in the dream i killed someone (i don’t remember who/how/why) and the whole thing was about me trying to clean up my tracks, but CSI was on to me, and it was only a matter of time until they caught me… and i didnt’ know what i’d do when that happened.

it FREAKED ME OUT! mostly b/c the emotions were so vivid.

it was so bad that i woke up at 8:00 and had to keep reminding myself that i didn’t actually kill anyone.
:(

i figured i couldn’t spend my whole day with that dream looming over my head, so i went back to sleep.
(and anyways, who wakes up at 8:00?! pfft!)

so then i dreamt about fun/miscellaneaous stuff, and i’m good to go now.

The hardest part about cutting out these stupid shows is that it’s become a habit of mine to watch tv at 10:00…basically regardless of what’s on.
it just seems like a good studybreak/chillout time.

So i dunno what i’m gonna do during 10:00… watch Scrubs maybe.
blops!

haha, i hate people

i tend to downplay my skills while job searching.

i read job descriptions and decide that i couldn’t do what they’re asking for.

when in reality, i could do anything… stuff tends not to be so difficult after you’ve been trained. and there’s always a learning curve.

anyways, i’m just randomly looking at sites for companies that i use. (hence the previous post about Amazon. after going to that site i decided to stick to Canadian services b/c they mentioned on their site that they get thousands of applications per week. and the recruiting process is really long.)

well, i was just looking at MBNA Canada.
after reading through the current job openings i read this:

We are looking for people who like people

and i thought, hmmm…i dunno if this company is for me…

hahaha.
:)

no joke!

did anyone else not realize that imdb.com is a subsidiary of Amazon.com?!!

now, how great would it be to work for Amazon in Seattle?

actually…. the best case scenerio would be if they operated JUST across the border in BC.
…but i guess you can’t win them all, eh?

tonight’s movie

tonights movie was “The Spitfire Grill” starring Alison Elliot.

it was good. if anyone is interested in watch a movie from the mid 90s. :) it didn’t end like i thought it would.

my roomie is going away this weekend.

parrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrty!

haha.
