mothers are fun.

i don’t mean my mom though.
wait… my mom is fun (Thank God :D ), but i’m not talking about her.

i’m talking about mothers in general.

i was at Loblaws and Chapters this afternoon just hanging out. (… not that the grocery store is a ‘hang out’ spot.. i was just walking around waiting until my digital pics were printed.)

There seemed to be a lot of ‘mothers’ around with their young children.
I dunno what was so fun about them… maybe cuz they were so chill.
Like at Chapters, two women were having a full out conversation about car seats while their children milled about, and the baby cried.

perhaps i’m just odd in that i find it funny when someone is holding a baby and not paying any real attention to it.
like the women in the conversation. After a while one of them picked up the crying boy and gave him a coffee cup and held him in one arm as she continued talking to her friend.

And he was completely content putting the cup in his mouth as he stared out at the ‘world’.

my newest music ‘thing’ is listening to playlists where all the songs start with the same letter. my “W” list is especially good!

i can hear the cheesy music now

last weekend i was leaving my apartment building and saw a needle/syringe on the floor at the entrance.

that’s no good

so i go towards it to pick it up, and as i walk over, i had a weird flashback to low budget commercials from the 1980s:

“If you see a needle, DONT TOUCH IT! call an adult”

so that stops me in my tracks.

i was actually running late, so i left the building, but when i came back it was still there, but someone had ‘kicked’ it off to the side.

i’d be considered an adult. I should pick it up. and dispose of it. …somehow… how do people dispose of needles anyway? if i throw it in the trash it might prick the garbageman… that’s no good.

so i left it.

but, the superintendent person was doing random cleaning that day, so i’m assuming she did something with it, cuz it was gone the next time i was in the lobby.

it’s funny that i still remember those commercials from over 10years ago.

Who Would’ve Thought I’d Get to Know You This Way?

i’m listening to that song by Donnie McClurkin.

seriously, if my roomie weren’t sleeping in the next room, i would be blasting it and hopping around the apartment.
but i suppose sitting here with headphones on and dancing in my chair will suffice.

ok,
so i broke another pair of headphones the other day.
they were my cool ‘behind the neck’ ones too.
i should mention that i didn’t really do anything to them… they just stopped working in one ear.
how annoying is that?!
i think i’m onto my last pair now.
these ones are reallly cheap ‘classic’ ones though, so i probablywon’t be using them often.

have i mentioned that i might be going to NYC for part of my Reading Week?
my parents want to go down cuz we haven’t seen my sis’ new place yet.
i don’t think i’ve been on a trip to the city with my parents yet…
i think it’d be a lot of fun cuz i’d actually have money to do things!
and i wanna go to Central Park.
