the grand finale

February 19, 2006

there was a semi-climatic ending to my ‘night at Social Sci’.

I was in the computer lab around 8:00. my bus was scheduled to come at 8:45 (or so i thought, turns out it was actuall 9:05),
and the FIRE ALARM went off!

so i hightailed it out of there!

5 Fire Services vechicles showed up. and 1 cop car.

I wasn’t sure if i should stick around to tell them i didn’t pull the alarm.
but i left, cuz i figured, if they really thought it was me, they’d ask me, cuz i was seriously the only person outside.

so after by bus came i went home and knocked out until 3pm.

this hour is going to be GREAT!

there are so many possibilities for the 6′oclock hour!

an hour ago, i was in a mini computer lab by myself and wanted to watch video from Yahoo Launch, but the earphone plug wasn’t working or something, so i couldn’t hear anything.

but now, the big lab is empty (i suppose people went home to sleep in their beds. :) ) and i have my mini speakers hooked up to the computer!
ITS A PARTY!!!

hah.
if anyone is interested, the live music video of Nastasha Bedingfield singing ‘Unwritten’ is REALLY good!
so good, i’m going to watch it again!

i think its the first time i’ve ever seen someone use a guitar as percussion! IT WAS SO COOL!

a couple things

one of things i really like about my job is laughing at people.

“with”…”at”… same thing.

I was calling a resident and got her answering machine, her message was, “Here comes the beep, you know what to do”
i’d never heard that one before.
not sure if i like it or not.
1. its fun
but
2. its not so good if you have anyone ‘professional’ call you.

anyways,
two girls went to the ATM machine (which just so happens to be directly in my line of sight) and as they’re waiting for the money to come out, they go “Big Money! Big Money!” like people do at casinos, or on Wheel of Fortune.

i’m not a big fan of that show… mostly b/c it doesn’t really require much knowledge.
Jeopardy on the other hand… now THAT is a fun show.
plus it has Alex Trebek. His smart comments just keep getting more and more rude. :)
i love it.

the extent of my cheapness

so they randomly called me today to ask if i wanted to take a shift this evening (saturday evening) and i said ’sure’ cuz money is fun to have sometimes.
but here’s the deal:
shift: 430pm-1230am.
last bus runs at midnight.
the number of these evening shifts that i’ve already had this month: 3
the amount that i have spent on taxis this month: $30.

i refuse to spend $40 on cabs in one month.
That’s just ridiculous.

Everytime i tell my dad i’m working one of these shifts he always says that my boss should pay for my transportation home.
but i figure, he doesn’t pay for the gas ppl use up driving themselves home, so why would he pay for my cab?
plus, its not like they force me to work at this time, i tell them that i’m available for these shifts and they schedule me.

The way that i usually rationalize taking cabs home is that i’m spending money in order to make money.

but $40 is too much, i say.

so here’s my plan:
stay in Social Science all night.

haha.

i was going to just walk home, but its really cold outside and that’s a bit more sketchy than staying here.

i’m in the computer lab right now.
there are a few other people here as well.
haha, i had a weird thought where we all get to know eachother and by the end of the night we’re friends. (like The Breakfast Club! :D )

it turns out that i already know one of the guys… hah, he came over to find out what i’m doing here so late.
wow.
its embarrassing to tell that whole ’story’ about me not wanting to pay for another cab.
he’s got light eyes and dark hair. that’s always attractive.
