“It’s getting hot in here!”
(that was the ‘phrase of the day’ at work today.)
fun time bowling yesterday!
i’m actually not a fan of bowling, but i had a great time last night. (at 9pm! on a sunday night! ….i was so tired this morning.)
i guess it all depends on who you’re with.
something interesting about the bowling alley: on the tvs they played music videos. i dunno if that’s a recent thing, or if they’ve been doing that for a while, but i thought it was a GREAT idea!
i mean, with music vids, you can watch them without getting too interested and then not wanting to bowl.
my one recommendation: no more Rod Stewart videos. please. no.
so this morning i get to work and as i pass through the ’secure’ doors into the office i’m hit with a “wave” of hot air. (it wan’t really ‘wave’ there was no air circulation… cuz the windows don’t open.)
so within a few seconds i’m uncomfortable.
the whole day was fairly comical.
there was some problem with the building and city bylaws or something, re: the temperture of office buildings.
so they had shut off the a/c… or something like that. i think they had only given it to certain floors or somthing.
anyways, today was month end and that’s when everyone in the department has to get all their work done before the end of the day.
and then today they received TONS more work then they were expecting, so everyone was stressed and hot and sweaty.
it was great.
u know those situations where it’s so bad that it’s just funny? ![]()
i think i was the only person inwardly laughing though, b/c i wasn’t stressed at all. i can attribute that to the fact that i don’t do anything “important”. so even though everyone starts work an hour before me, i ended up leaving the office before they did.
everyone looked so funny too. people walking around in their barefeet.. one girl was wearing wool pants (b/c it’s usually supercold in the office so we wear winter clothes) so she rolled them up.
haha, talk about “business casual”.
i wouldve taken a picture of everyone … but i don’t think they would’ve appreciated that.
the fun part was that the manager went out and bought us all icecream/popsicles.
and there were ice cold beverages available all day. i remember walking by the recycling bins full of ice and pop and seeing one of the cop-op students dunking his hands in the bin and cooling off.
heh, such a classic day.
