this weekend was ACTUALLY fun!
here’s a card i made:

it’s simple and has bright colours, so i like it.
last week my dad asked me to create a brochure for our church, outlining the programs they offer. (weird…should i be saying ‘the programs we offer?’…odd.)
so of course, i did nothing about it all week, and on Saturday afternoon i sat down at the computer to see what i could come up with.
i LOVE doing stuff like that!
so, once i had my first draft i showed it to my dad, for his comments, and he was shocked that i was actually doing it. he figured i had decided not to.
anyways, it went through a few versions …my dad wrote new text for a lot of the program descriptions and we changed some of the pictures.
(one thing he was adamant about was spelling the word ‘program’ as ‘programme’ because we’re Canadian.
i dunno, it just looks wrong to me.)
so, yesterday night (i’m talking 11:30pm) we went to Kinkos and had a test copy printed.
Kinkos is such an interesting place.
first of all, i love the stationary-theme they have going on…
plus it’s interesting to see who’s there, and what they’re doing.
like at 11:30 on a Saturday night.
anyways, so this afternoon (Sunday) we revised a couple more things and then went back to Kinkos to print 100 copies. (sooo expensive!)
we decided on glossy paper instead of cardstock, and i really like how they turned out.
we came home and folded and cut them.
with all that paper around, of COURSE i took pictures!

the inside looks like this:

i love that baby in the middle. so cute!
the finished stack:

looks so small…
so that’s partly why my weekend was fun. it was nice to be productive
i think the other reason this weekend was enjoyable was b/c i’ve been listening to a lot of drinking music..
i was amused when i noticed it. i didn’t plan it, it just so happened that a lot of the songs mentioned alcohol:
Jamie Cullum’s “Nothing I Do”:
We were so drunk last night, we had that stupid fight. You called me a useless, selfish prink…
The Postal Service’s “This Place is a Prison”:
What does it take to get a drink in this place? What does it take, how long must I wait?”
and
Mark Ronson’s “Stop Me”:
So I drank one, it became four. And when I fell on the floor, I drank more.
