Swollow all the gum you’d like!

October 30, 2007

Talking to my mom today, I couldn’t remember if the whole “gum sits in your tummy for seven years” idea was fact or fiction.
It’s fiction!

yayyyy,

now I can swollow buckets of gum! no need to look for a garbage anymore!

(I’m just joking btw)

I also wanted to mention some fun interview tips links.

I’m not a employment-getting superstar or anything, so I’m not sure if it’s logical for me to talk about advice…

but I think it’s okay b/c it’s not like I wrote the articles!

SoYouWanna is my favourite I think. The articles are comical, and give some good ideas of things to say for those ridiculous behavioral questions.
[The link to their full Job Interview advice]

I found some other interesting tips on monster.com too, but those articles were pretty boring. …good, but dry.

Snickers!!

It’s that time of year again! …the time when we buy loads of candy “for the trick-or-treaters”. mmm snickers!

I spent another day downtown today!
yay subways!

doesn’t it look lonely?

Please Vote For Me

October 29, 2007

“Please Vote for Me” examines the efforts of three 8-year-old students running for class monitor in an elementary school in Wuhan, China. The youngsters are shown campaigning for votes and participating in debates.”

I just caught the last half of this documentary.
I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN!

Seriously, SOOO interesting.

I recommend it to all. :)
Here’s a youtube preview:

I’m embedding it, cuz I think it’s worth the watch.

There were several times when I was like, “is this really happening?”

and many hilarious laugh-out-loud moments.
I’ll keep looking for clips.

oh, I hope I get to watch it again!!

“you’ve got to have a heart to have a broken one”

October 28, 2007

I’m listening to Broken One by Luke Doucet.
Anyone know who that is?

I heard him on cbc radio yesterday and I liked his voice.

I looked him up on the American Amazon site, and he came up right away, so perhaps everyone knows who he is. …I dunno.

I like his album cover.
feet. :)

“I need you like a stolen car”

ouch.

Today was an interesting day. …right now it’s kinda melancholy.
“There’s melancholy in the wind and sorrow in the grass.” ~ Charles Kuralt

After church this morning I had ‘tea’ with a woman.
(So weird for me to say that! “Having tea” just doesn’t seem like a ‘Catherine’ thing to do!)
A couple weeks ago the woman told me I can call her ‘Aunt’ or ‘Grandma.’

My mom did that with someone a year ago. …like after 20 years of knowing the person she all of a sudden ‘adopted’ her as an Aunt. And now only refers to her as such.
….I’m still confused by it.

hmm what else… I’ve still been making cards and everything. Maybe I’ll post pics of them sometime. I dunno. I think maybe I’ve been talking about cards too much…oui/non?
The November craft show has been on my mind a lot. I’m trying to convince myself that it will only be a learning experience and not any sort of money-making extravaganza.
I try to keep my expectations low, so I’m not dissappointed… but that’s easier said than done. hah, so I’m starting early!

I feel like downloading that Jann Arden song… “I’ve got money in my pocket… I’ve got a house, I’ve got a car….”

“I wouldn’t be caught dead in this place!”

October 25, 2007

I’m listening to “But it’s Better if You do” by Panic! At the Disco
hah! I like this song.
I’m not an overall fan of the group (I feel like the lyrics don’t mesh well with the music… like maybe they write them at separate times or something…) but I like this song.
and a couple others.

more mail to share!

I mailed these a couple days ago:

I usually don’t take pics of mail I send out, but I liked how these all looked so different.
(and how the insect stickers brighten them up!)

and another moo sticker on my swap package:

MOO MAIL!

How exciting!!

Pics from my first moo swap:

fun!

AND, my Moo minicards arrived too!

SO excited!

COLOUR!

I had a fun time taking pictures of them :)

yayy!

signed, sealed, delivered

October 23, 2007

My first Moo card Swap!!
I finally found a use for the freebie stickers that came with my Moo stickers order.
I sent the cards out in one of my ’smiley creatures’ envelopes. fun!

I might share a pic of the card and everything, once the person receives it.

Along the same lines (of mail and such), I bought some new stamps today!
I like them so much!!

BUGS!!!

or actually, “Beneficial Insects”.

The values are 1cent, 3cents, 5, 10, and 25.
(SO much better than the previous ones! They were something really boring…and not bright at all.)

I also really like these ones b/c now I don’t have to buy separate US stamps, I can use my regular Jasper National Park stamps, and add these on for extra value and brightness!

…I think I’m a little too excited about these stamps…

I’m watching Pushing Daisies right now. I really like the show! It doesn’t make me laugh aloud too much, but it’s certainly unique and entertaining.

The characters talk really quickly, and the colours are bright. :)

I caught a couple fun lines during tonight’s episode:

— “I could let it go, but like the cat, it will come back.”

–”It’s a Carrier Pigeon.” // “Disease or mail?” // “Both.”

Anyways, here’s a link to a fun blog post:
It made me laugh.

chocolate cake and lemon pie

October 22, 2007

That’s a lyric from a song by D.B Clifford. “Simple Things”

Introducing… another KPD banner!!

This is my fav so far :)

Here are a couple of the Christmas cards from yesterday:

…until next time!

oh what a night!

October 21, 2007

- a long nap

- a tall glass of ice cold apple juice

- D.D Jackson on the radio
(I’m loving CBC Radio these days!)

- making cards again
(after a whole week of not making any, but wanting to! …pics to come tomorrow)

- setting up a Moo card swap

It’s been good. :)
