new camera!

February 29, 2008

I’m thinking of getting a new camera.
(deja vu)

I don’t need another camera. …but I do want one.
although, it’s not a necessity.
(I could go back and forth all night!)

so, the one i’m looking at right now is the Casio Exilim EX-Z77 …mostly because it’s on sale (less than $150).

And it sounds like it’s good. I don’t care much for the youtube video capabilities, but I like the other features.

When I get my own place, I want to get one of those computer/tv combinations!
I remember seeing one at someone’s house like 4 years ago.
It was weird…

but I think now, the screen would be more like a tv screen, no?

T-Bay

February 28, 2008

I’m back!!

So, I went to Thunder Bay yesterday. It was just a one-night / full day trip for work. …nothing exciting!

It was my first time that far north (or so I thought), but I didn’t get to explore or anything.
And surprisingly, the weather was fantastic! (In comparison to the freezing cold that it is in Toronto right now.)

So, I’m actually quite embarrassed… at dinner on Sunday I was having a discussion w/ my family about Canada and my dad was saying that Winnipeg is more north than Thunder Bay!
I was flabbergasted! like, what map of Canada was he talking about!?!
So I dragged out the conversation wayy too long, trying to describe the map of Canada and get my family to agree with me on the fact that Thunder Bay is WAY north in Ontario, and Winnipeg is close to the U.S border.
Actually, I was adamant about the fact.

I eventually got tired and just shook my head at them, and we moved on to a different topic.

So, I just looked up a map of Canada, and OH MY GOODNESS I know nothing!
How did that happen?!
I’m quite shocked actually.

anyways, on a totally different note….
Subway is rocking my socks off.

Has anyone been there lately?
They changed up their Sub-of-the-Day selections to reallly great choices!
It’s fantastic.
I’m loving it.

$5 dinner

February 24, 2008

After work on Friday, my carpool buddy (Cecilia) and I headed over to Ikea for some cheap dinner!

little did we know that there was a sale on the meatball dinner! $2..99! (It blows my mind…)

It was good –I kinda felt like I was in the army when the server poured the gravy on the plate… but it was still good.

After the meal we walked around the place looking at all the pretty rooms…

And pretending that we live there?

…at the dinner table:

(hah! I just realized that you can see Cecilia’s reflection in the oven! …are those ovens?)

…loading the dishwasher:

I think this is my favourite picture of the bunch:
Watch out for the falling drawers!!

more goodness

February 21, 2008

wow. I just love the title of that magazine.

I saw this in the latest issue:

ehehe, “Slanket”.

…in case you can’t tell from the slanted pic — it’s a blanket that includes sleeves! HAH!
or my dad who say, “the lazy man’s blanket.”

I think it’s funny.
it costs $45 though… so it’s definitely not for me.

I’m watching the Brit awards right now. …Rihanna is performing… she might be on something.
actually, i’m not a fan of her’s.
But I DO like Marie Digby’s version of the song. [link] …well, I like it more than the original…but I wouldn’t download it or anything.

aww Mika just won an award and used the word “brilliant”. I love that!!
I want to start using it more!
… wow there are a lot of performances in this award show!! It’s actually not boring!! *gasp! an award show that’s not boring?! how can that be?*

but anyways,
I was on the phone with FedEx for 30minutes today trying to figure out why I couldn’t process my shipment online. At the time, it seemed very tedious and annoying, but in the big scheme of things that’s not too long. PLUS, the guy fixed my problem, so it was all worth it!
At the beginning of our conversation the guy asked me for my login and password, which I thought was a bit dodgey. (hehe, my vocab is being influenced by the British people on tv.) But he didn’t seem to have a contingency plan for if I didn’t want to give him my password… and he was French…. so, I gave it to him.
The whole time my mind just kept having flashbacks to those thousands of emails/warnings that companies send out saying, “we never ask for your password. If someone asks for your password don’t give it to them.”
But I suppose it’s different when you initiate the call…

sweetness- Mark Ronson just won best male solo artist!
haha he started off his acceptance speech: “I’ve never felt so British and male in my life”. :)

So, I finished my latest book, ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’
i liked it a lot!
I’d totally recommend it!
tons tons tons better than his second novel! (’A Spot of Bother’)

oh, and while I have British things on my mind, here’s a link to the music video for Kate Nash’s song “Foundations”.
I know it’s “old news” but I still like to watch it.
I love the colours! And the fun random things, like when she pushes him onto the floor, and the fabric covered wind-y stairs, and the retro green phone….

alright, i’m supposed to do some work tonight, so i’m off!!

my parents

February 20, 2008

dad: “is the game on tv?”

mom: “no. that’s why I’m going to the gym.”

they make me laugh.
why pay for extra tv stations when you could watch tv at the gym?

New Good!

February 18, 2008

the March/April edition of Good Magazine arrived in my mailbox last week!

weeeeeee!!!

Here’s an interesting spread:

It’s US army enrollment per conflict.
the highest is 12.2% is World War II.
and the lowest is 0.5% for the “Iraq and Afghanistan Wars”.

…interesting.

anyways,

I bought more fabric for my quilt!

brightness!! love it!!

new music!

I went on a ‘Christian book’ hunt with my dad this Saturday.
It was “interesting”.

When we went to our local Blessings in December the inventory was ‘pitiful’ and we guessed that the store was going down.
It’s still there, but still looks barely has any thing in there. it’s pretty sad.
oh, also, we found this article!

Brutal.

So anyways, we drove around from Blessings, to Mitchells, to independent store, to independent store, and then eventually the ‘flagship’ Mitchells in T.O (or north of T.O or something).
…and I picked up some cds!

Smalltown Poets, Bec Abbot, Nevertheless, and Manic Room.
So far, Manic Room is my fav…except they kinda remind me of Good Charlotte, which is unfortunate.

I’m not a big fan of the others…

whaddup!?!

February 15, 2008

so check out this Obay ad:

hahaha, hilarious.
Here’s an article about it!
