new music!
“yayyyy”

I picked up a few cds this evening! Here they are:

1. Eclectica (Episodes in purple)
Zaki Ibrahim
- I’m excited about this one. It was a complete impulse buy (I haven’t heard of her before) and i feel like it’s going to be good!
[actually… i think I have heard of her… I saw her on tv for half a second and must have committed her name into my subconscious…. or something.]

2. Gavin DeGraw
Gavin DeGraw
- I’m always confused when artists come out with a self titled album after they’ve already released an album, or albums, that aren’t self titled.
Anyways, I decided to get this album despite the ridiculousness of its first single.
my fingers are crossed.

[aside: I’m listening to a anti-Walmart documentary right now. (I’m not in the tv room. I’m trying to only put half my attention on the documentary, because while it’s interesting, i don’t want to stay up until 1:00am watching it.) But anyways, one of the guys interviewed a Walmart Executive and he noted the percentage of Canadian retail sales that Walmart is responsible for. The interviewer guessed 25% and the Walmart exec said it was around 10%. …interesting…]

3. Some Mad Hope
Matt Nathanson
- hehe “that’s some MAD hope you’ve got there!”
I remember being interested in Nathanson’s music a while ago, so I decided to get his latest album. (erm… i think this is his latest! it’s from 2007.)

[aside: somehow, I’ve recently become incredibly intrigued by how people from the UK say ‘yeah’ after many of their sentences.
I think it’s fabulous.]

4. Hold On Now, Youngster…
Los Campensinos!
- I was first introduced to Los Campensinos! when iTunes had their song ‘Death to Los Campensinos!’ as their Free Single of the Week. I think it’s great! so, I’m excited about this album.

[aside(again): I watched another TEDTalk today on my ride home for work. This time, it went COMPLETELY over my head! Halfway through, I was like, “wait. what is she talking about?!” and then it continued and now I’m utterly confused.
maybe i’ll try watching it again, b/c the crowd seemed to understand it completely! They were taking notes and laughing at her ‘jokes’. I didn’t find it funny at all! …haha, maybe there’s something on the net that explains it to me…. or maybe i need to buy one of her books…]

5. Encanto
Sergio Mendes
- I was actually listening to a song by Mendes on my mp3 player when I saw this album on the shelf! it’s pretty. yellow.
I’m expecting to like the music too. :D
