I smell like Lush
Today has been a blast so far!
I slept in (forgot to set the alarm!!) and then went out into the snow flurries!
- took out the recycling (hah, it’s always nice to check something off the ‘to do’ list!)
- went to the Book Arts Fair at OCAD. I actually rarely go to craft shows, aside from participating in them (isn’t that horrible?) But I had a great time at the show today!
I actually ended up going there because I wanted to buy something from someone who was a vendor at the show I participated in last night. Last night’s show didn’t go particularly well for me, so I didn’t feel like buying anything… but today’s a new day!
The show was really well attended, and there were some great artists! I picked up this bookmark (free!) that I really like:

other side:

It’s from the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild.
I bought a few other things, but haven’t taken pictures of those yet….
After the fair, I walked down Queen Street to Lush.
So, I’m not a huge Lush fan. Partly because it smells to strong, both in the store and in the vicinity of the store, but mostly because I’m not used to spending over $5 on a bar of soap, so everything in there seems CRAZY expensive….
And I guess that since my skin isn’t overly sensitive, I can use any old soap without any worries… (hah)
But anyways, it was an interesting visit today. One of the Sales people ‘took me under her wing’ and showed me everything. I was amazed at how she knew so much about it all- like, how she could remember the ingredients of 20 different kinds of soap.
She also spoke like a commercial which was entertaining….
After that I hopped on a streetcar and went to the Outer Layer. I love love love this store! [I’ve mentioned them before] …and I hadn’t been there in a while so I was stoked about going.
And they didn’t let me down!
So this store has all kinds of unique items…
they have the ‘I am not a paper cup’ mug, which I’ve actually seen in one other T.O shop — speaking of seeing things, I saw LOTS of random people today with these Coalition signs:

And it made me wonder if I missed something major. Was there a big rally or something? Maybe at Queen’s Park..?
[Edit: oh yes, there was a ‘Coalition Yes’ rally at City Hall. …and a ‘Coalition No’ rally at Queen’s Park.]
Anyways,
the OuterLayer:
So I’m in there and they’re playing the song ‘Young Folks’ by Peter, Bjorn & John on the sound system — fun!
And then after that they play a GREAT song by John Legend that I’ve never heard before!!! so I asked them if it was on his latest album (which I have, but haven’t really listened to) and it turns out it’s on the Grey’s Anatomy album! (version 3)
(the song is called ‘Sun Comes Up’. …just in case anyone is interested….)
So I ended up buying a ‘few’ things… most of which I can’t share (cause they’re Christmas gifts!)
but I can show this guy:

He’s on my fridge.
…and makes me laugh:

And now it’s time for me to get ready for tonight’s craft show!
l8r!
