new books!
I was off on a roadtrip last weekend (yay!), so on Thursday I stopped by Chapters to get a book to read.
But I ended up picking up a few more books than I can read in a few days.

Miriam Toews!!
I love Miriam Toews. But I don’t love paying regular price for books.
So I was going to come home and buy a used copy on Amazon, but I decided that I should support great Canadian talent. Plus, I’ve already bought two of her books and haven’t paid regular price yet. So I bought this novel, which I think is her latest. (don’t quote me on that.)
This book was conveniently located behind the cash register as I was checking out. And Laurence Hill (the author) just happened to be on The Hour last night, so I decided to support 1) A Canadian novelist, 2) A great Canadian TV show, and 3) Shelf Placement.
I had a fun conversation with the Australian cashier. We chatted about the novel, The Hour and awkward interviews (Like the one with the Killers! apparently the Keith Urban interview is odd too.)

I could NOT resist these. AND they were 30% off.
My fav cover was the one for Crime and Punishment, but I already have that book. (boooo.)
I am a huge fan of the book though, so I may purchase this copy too….
