I spent the past couple days listening to Ingrid Michaelson’s latest album ‘Everybody’.
I’m a fan.

I just finished watching the video for the first single, ‘Maybe’.
I like it! (minus the guys in the masks! creeepy!)

Before heading to a restaurant for some butter chicken (yum!!), Mandy and I stopped by the local HMV store to pick up some new tunes.

I didn’t have anything in mind, but I hadn’t been to the store in a month or so, so I figured I might find something that I wanted.
I ended up buying:
1) Ingrid Michaelson’s latest album: “Everybody”

oh my goodness!! I was completely unaware that this album was released!!! (apparently it was released Aug 25, 09)
I’m listening to the album as I type this!!
SO EXCITED!!!!
- one completely random tidbit that I enjoyed on the cd packaging, is that two people (”Geoff Lewit” and “Saul Simon McWilliams”) are credited for contributing ‘hand claps’ to the album! yes!!
- something else noteworthy of the album is that it includes all new songs! (well, except for one - “The Chain”). And it does NOT include two singles that she released earlier in the year! (”All Love” and “Turn to Stone”)

2) Soundtrack for the film “Away We Go”

I haven’t actually seem this film yet, but I imagine that it’s GREAT! Though I haven’t heard anything (negative or positive) from anyone who has actually seen it…
I expect this soundtrack to be superb as well. Most of the music is by Alexi Murdoch!!!

There were a fair number of other albums that I was interested in purchasing, but instead I decided to make note of them and either a)listen to the artist to see if I actually like the music, and/or b) buy the album for a better price on iTunes

I didn’t have my iPod on me (I use it as a notepad sometimes), so instead I took pictures of the albums/artists I was interested in. Here’s the roundup:

Whitney Houston’s latest album: “I look to you”

I’ve heard a lot about this album. (”The most anticipated album of the year”) I’m not sure if I would enjoy it…but I am tempted to purchase it just to support Houston’s return to the limelight. This goes on the ‘investigate’ list.

Carli Bruni’s latest album:

great picture, eh? …can you tell I was trying to be incognito?
I wasn’t a big fan of her English album, but this one is back in French, so maybe I’ll enjoy it. This goes on the ‘maybe purchase on iTunes…one day’ list.

Hayden: “Place Where We Lived”

Mandy noticed this album b/c of the pretty embossed packaging. A couple weeks ago I actually picked up a Starbucks ‘Pick of the Week’ card for Hayden, so I almost bought the album. (”I’ve heard of this guy! it’s a sign! I should buy the album!”). Instead, this album goes on the ‘investigate’ list

NOFX: “Coasters”

I was completely taken by this funny retro packaging, and I actually picked up the album to buy it. The back of the CD package featured a picture of a bar counter where CDs were being used as coasters. And there was a note on the CD package that said “one coaster included in this package”. clever!
This goes on the ‘investigate’ list.

Alex Cuba: “Agua Del Pozo”

I’m a huge fan of Cuba’s song “Si Pero No”. This album goes on the ‘what are you waiting for? Go ahead and buy the album already!’ list.

Parachute: “Losing Sleep”

I know nothing about this group. But I was drawn to the album cover (or maybe it was the $10 price tag??).
This goes on the ‘investigate’ list!

and last but not least…

The Soundtrack for the film 500 Days of Summer

Again- another film that I haven’t actually seem, but have high hopes for. (Though, I have heard that this film doesn’t live up to the hype! bummer.) I was very very tempted to purchase this. But 1) we had already gone through the checkout, and 2) $15? But I mean it includes the song “Quelqu’un m’a dit” You just can’t resist that!!! This album goes on the ‘I’m currently downloading this from iTunes’ list.

This day is dragging on forever. I haven’t been out of the office yet today though, so maybe the stale air is getting to me.

hmm. I’m been a bit absent lately.
I’m not sure what the deal is. I’m kinda busy, but not crazy busy.

I think I’m just not managing my time well. That, and I’m really tired.
Can’t seem to get to bed early though. (case and point: It’s 11:30pm right now.)

I saw that quote in a “Mexican” restaurant today.
The other day, Manz and I discovered a Mexican restaurant within walking distance from my place! That brings the list up to three!
The place we went seemed to be authentic Mexican food. It was yummy. Though I did eat way to much guacamole. silly allergic reaction. (though, I should be thankful that I don’t have a serious allergy! It’s hard to resist that stuff.)

There was another delay on the subway this morning. I dunno what the deal was, but there were tons of people and the subways didn’t come by as frequently as they usually do.
After letting 5 trains pass, I squeezed onto a car and was on my way to work.
About 5 seconds into the ride, the guy standing 0.25feet away from me was like, “oh hey!”
it was the guy from my building who walks his dog ALL THE TIME!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this guy on here yet. long story short, he walks his dog often (I see and/or hear him when he does,) and I’ve been perplexed by this, cause I didn’t think that dogs need to be walked so often.
and I don’t think they do… I guess he just enjoys it?

I would too I think!
Actually, I think I’d get obsessed.
And I would sing this song endlessly:

and I actually don’t have it on my new iPod! I just around when the weather started to get nicer.

The song reminds me of the summer. and smiles.
